Developer / team of developers (w/m/d), to design a mod for Minecraft.

We are the communication team of the Cluster of Excellence The Martian Mindset of the University of Bremen (mars.uni-bremen.de).
Our goal is to contribute to a sustainable human exploration of space and power a green transition on Earth.
We want a Minecraft mod to communicate our ideas, inspirations and work to a young audience.

The mod idea revolves around the creation of the Mars "dimension", akin to the End or the Nether.
Detailed instructions for needed game mechanics and crafting recipes will be provided, as well as 3d models and textures.
Most of the required features are alterations / reskins of items or mechanics that are already in place in the game.
We welcome suggestions and input and are flexible regarding our planned features.
Occasional updates might be necessary to keep the Mod available for newer versions of Minecraft.
We require documented code that other developers will be able to understand and edit in the future.
A blindly AI-coded result is not acceptable.

Please contact the Martian Mindset Communication Team (mmkomm@uni-bremen.de) for questions or if you are interested in working with us.

Key features:

- Multiple biomes, with mostly the same blocks, but different terrain generation
- New resources and crafting unique to the Mars realm based on processing Mars sand (regolith)
- Estimation: <50 new blocks incl. variants / items / tools (List will be provided)
- Gameplay mechanics such as reduced gravitation, dependency on space suits and so on
- nothing in the inventory can be transferred between Mars and other dimensions
- New mobs (a variety of Mars rovers, that help with resource collection for example)
- Crafting blocks like a processing unit (workbench) need to be powered with solar panels / batteries
- Breathable air is needed (like unter water in regular Minecraft), as well as drinking water (instead of food)
- A variety of random interesting spawns (rover wrecks, supply drops, fossils, with a tool to find them)
- dust storms instead of rain
- A buildable Mars car and a Mars helicopter

Additional ideas:
Meteor showers, subterranean water, radioactivity hazards, tornadoes, alien artifacts, growing crops, upgrades for air capacity, cold damage at night, constructing a return vehicle for returning items to Earth, fuel production for said return vehicle
